VOX Press Educational Outreach
In 2012, VOX created an Educational Outreach Committee (VOX Kids) to provide cost-free ongoing arts education to all Lafayette County children, specifically children in underserved pockets of the community. The Educational Outreach Committee is chaired by Amanda Reed who holds a degree in Elementary Education and Language Arts from the University of Mississippi. Under Reed’s leadership, VOX Kids has provided well-attended writing workshops and poetry readings for Lafayette County elementary, middle and high school students. VOX Press strongly believes that no-cost arts programming for children provides deeply enriching experiences that lead to long-term benefits for communities through enhanced public understanding of and skill in artistic application and appreciation.
